i have a Airlink Wireless G cardbus adapter and a Linksys Wireless B router

Definately, a wireless G adapter is compatible with any of the three major wireless systems (B , G , A), although it is not compatible with wireless N or pre-N as the connection speed is far greater than the adapter can handle, so maybe you should consider a pre-N network as it will give you super fast file transfer and internet connection, and will be still be adequate if you decide to switch to a faster internet connection.

Yes they have made the standards BACKWARDS compatible...
so assuming you have your ENCRYPTION and NETWORK settings correct..BOBS YOUR UNCLE

Oh yeah, no problem. You just need to configure them both the same (as in same WEP key, WPA, etc.).
