A friend of mine wants to download Yahoo messenger and she is blocked from downloading things and since she does not have admin rights, she cannot override the system. Where can she get a version of Yahoo messenger?

She was able to download anything, but her office took away that right to everyone.

Download an older version on another computer, (http://oldversion.com/program.php?n=yahoo) burn to CD, request permission from employer (or get fired) and install on office computer.
Other course of action (highly recommended) would be asking boss to install it on her computer. He should have the required privileges.

Sounds like you need to get permission from an adult. If I am wrong then I apologize. Consult with someone who has experience with such matters , and hopefully you may be able to gain trust and understanding by just opening up and talk with your family member. Things seem rough now however just open up the line of communication and all things will work out for the better.
