the fact that you can think, as opposed to believing concepts un-tested for validity, with blind faith? Or what you actually think? i.e., Your beliefs may differ but you have actually thought about the belief and adopted it instead of someone told you, supposedly someone in a position of authority (clergy, politicians, media or worse still, the check lane at the supermarket)and you believe it simply because they said it to be true. So what is better, what to think or to think for yourself?

OK, GO!

Good answers, see you are thinking!!! And don't care if you agree with me, just care that you think. Or didn't I make that clear?

Free thinking is absolutely the most important! This single most powerful ideal has transformed us from a race of followers to risk-takers that have given us millions of endless possibilities for success. The mass majority of people would still believe that the World was flat if not for the thinkers of this World to go outside the bow or against the wave currents!!! Let Free thinking rein!!!!

I am sure most people think for themselves no matter what it is that they believe or think. Just because its not the same as you or the person next to you does not mean they didn't make that decision for themselves. I believe from what I have read in the book called the BIBLE!

uhh ok, I think I am following you.

Having concepts thrown down our throats every day, while unpleasant, does have its place. It allows those who wish to use their minds to find truths, an opportunity to decide what to look into. In other words the untested forcefeeding just might have some validity or might not, but it is up to me to find out what is important to me.

Since being able to think for yourself includes within it the ability to be able to think, it is, of course, more important than just being able to think. Two is better than one!

But seriously, folks, the ability to think independently is what keeps us, supposedly, from being suckered into all the schemes that lead men astray, dupe us out of money, keep us out of jail (ooops!), etc. So it is the more precious gift, to see with eyes open. Anyway -- THAT IS WHAT *I* THINK!! LOL!

I don't think you can separate the question......i may be wrong in interpreting your question, but some things have to be accepted on faith.....I believe in god...I've never seen him.....I've depended on logic, what I've been told (by people I trust).....if I had to choose, i would definitely think for myself....i THINK I'm making sense!!!!

Hopefully people who think, do think for themselves...and make their choices and decisions based on what they know or what makes sense to them, versus what the majority is doing because someone told them to...
