I don't understand why people like to throw their kids away because they did drugs during preg. and announce it to the world.
I really don't understand voting on illegalizing abortions when people need them for medical health problems like a friend of mine who got raped.

I meant and a friend of mine got raped.
My mom had an abortion because she's 43 and her birth control didn't work. If she had that baby she would've risked her life since shes old and a smoker. I'm 27 and don't need to lose my mother.

People want to prohibit abortions simply due to religion. There's a couple lines in the Old Testament about god owning every life and how it's up to god to kill people.
So people who are religious are too scared to break those rules and want to force others to do the same, thinking they're spreading "goodness," when in fact they're spreading harm.
The actual fact is that in order to survive and thrive in the world a baby must be wanted. Therefore it's up to the mother to decide.

I agree with you. I think abortions should be legal to a point! Rape victims, girls who are 12 years old, etc. People don't want the baby and won't carry to term without drugging the baby up or people who toss them into dumpsters all because they can't get the abortion. How is that any better than terminating a ball of cells? And, how do people expect someone who is irresponsible enough to get pregnant to care for a newborn? I feel abortion should not be performed once the cells is turned into an actual baby (later on in pregnancy), but shouldn't be illegal. Abortion should be a choice, yeah it is a life but I am sure that ball of cells would rather be gone in the begining before there is any brain or emotions than be lying in the dumpster in the cold. There are options to raising the kid..adoption, but obviously that doesn't work because people don't do it.
It is a touchy subject....but, I agree with you!

What I can't udnerstand about the pro-life arguement is this: apparently, the main arguement is "Abortion=Murder." Every pro-lifer I've ever spoken to says that in such a matter-of-fact manner that I assume that this is an absolute fact. Correct?
How, then, if "all lives are equal," can the people who ostracize abortion patients, in the same breath, rrationalize it for incest and rape?
One would think that if all lives were equal, that circumstances wouldn't matter.
The fact is, THEY could also place their babies up for adoption.
It seems like a rather hypocritical fight.

people that throw theri children away r sick and need help there are always other oppions they jsut arn't smart enough ot use them as for the rape thing there r other options there as well she could always give it to a family who couldn't have 1 who would love it and care for it i mean its not its fault how it was aconceived at least give it a chance to have a future though i mean i cna see if its a situation where the mothers life or childs life are in danger to concider obortion but that should be a last choice in any other situation

Sweetie,I agree with ya. I think it should be legalized for certain situations such as your friend. But i don't think everyone should be able to have them cause some people do abuse it like it a birth control option.Oh I will have unprotected sex and the have a abortion if I get pregnant cause i don't want it.It's like have a baby is the worse thing that hey could get.WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!

Either way, their are families out there that would be happy to adopt these kids.Rape is not a medical health problem. i was raped when i was younger, if i would have gotten pregnant, i would have gone Thur with the pregnancy, it may have been hard, but i would never kill an innocent child for any reason. i always say GOD has a purpose for everything he does.

I agree about the rape thing. And as far as people doing drugs, I hate each and every single one of them.

Good points. People like to force their morality on others. Its as simple as that. They usually come from one certain "Christian" religion.

well, there's adoption though, there's no reason that she couldn't have the baby... why should the baby suffer if it could given to a good home?
