No two spinal operations are the same, so what anybody else tells you is not necessarily what will happen to you. I had two, with the warning that a third one would not be possible anymore.

I cannot do much lifting anymore, nor can I do long walks. Pain is rarely not there. Still, I consider myself lucky, I can still climb stairs, an d luckily escaped a wheelchair.

Make sure you do muscletoning exercises before the op, it will help your recovery time.

I wish you a lot of strength.

My mom had spinal sergery about 18 years ago. Back then they told her she would have to be in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. She walkesd out of the hospital and still does walk with no problems what so ever. You never know, stay positive and hope for the best.

Spinal surgery success rate is usually 50/50 or less. Check with your surgeon about it. He will give a realistic and honest statement.

That is a tough question to answer. It depends on how invasive the surgery is, what they are going to do to your back. Some people are worse off after the surgery than they were before. Good luck.

Depends on the type of surgery you are having. My brother just had to have one of his disks removed. He's still in a lot of pain, but it gets better and better each day. If he hadn't had the sugery, he would've been paralzyed.

If you do not become paralized then it should still be great quality but if you do on the other hand life is life live to the fullest.
