We helped to catch Saddam, but we aren't the ones controling the system that is currently trying him. Besides, Saddam won't get the death penalty because it would make him out to be a martar.

Your question is nonsensical and rediculous!

Answer me one simple question:

What does the punishment that Saddam Hussein recieves (or doesnt) have ANYTHING to do with whether the war was fought for the right reasons?

You have asked what is possibly the stupidest question on this board, simply because it is trying to link to COMPLETELY seprate issues to try and porove YOUR viewpoint is correct.

If Saddam Hussein spends the rest of his life in jail, instead of getting the death penalty, does that mean that he didnt use chemical weapons against the Kurds? Does that mean he didnt torture and kill dissidents? Does that mean he was a good ruler?

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The lack of a death penalty in no way implies, signifies or otherwise hints at his innocence!!!

If you want to be against the war, go ahaid, you have that right, and you may be right, But dont be such and idiot about it.

You will never convince anyone with stupid arguments like this. In fact, you are just convincing people that you are an idiot who should not be listened to.

To exploit the situation and establish the innocence of US + UK Saddham is sacrificed by the so called Democratic Tribunal! Great criminls are moving free in Rolls Royce! But I believe the result will end up in a great confusion and a hundred thousand Irqis and others are waiting in the death roll to convince US & UK's ilegitmate occupation.

Iraq 's current government doesn't have any wisdom - they are cowards and inefficient! The death penalty was issued by US + UK to safe guard the illegal interests in Iraq! The Tribunal was a drama to win the hearts of suffering Iraqis but acquired only hatred!!!

How can we blame Saddam for trying to keep the peace in HIS country?
Where do we get the right to tell him how to police HIS people?
Isn't the civil war in Iraq now proof that it was only HIS hard hand that could keep control in that s---t hole?
We should put him back in charge so HE could fix the mess WE created.

He hasn't been convicted of his crimes yet. Generally, conviction comes before imposition of the death penalty.

He hasn't been convicted yet. The verdict in his first trial won't come out until October and his second trial just began.

well, i wouldn't be too sure that he won't get the deathe penalty...and as for why he hasn't gotten it yet? i'm guessing that the iraqis are trying to actually finish his trial first...some silly concept of 'justice' or something...whether he deserves justice or not...

I'd like to know why the trial is taking so long other than he throws temper tantrums now and then. They should have rapped it up by now, and he should be gone.
