I wouldn't say that one is a MILLION times better than the other, but personal taste is really going to be the difference here. North Face is headquartered in Boulder, CO (my home state), and Columbia is out of Portland, OR (my wife's home state), so that's a wash.
The fit is similar in both of them, and though the North Face jacket has some nice features, the Columbia Titanium is just as good in my opinion.
If you just have to get the Denali, then go for it; it's your money.

In my opinion The North Face is superior quality. I love my Denali, as well as my ski jacket. They are very well insulated and beat the pants off the old Columbia jacket I had. I guess they should for the money though.
