Just be calm. No one likes a spaz. Just know that everyone else feels the same way you do. Try to find out where you need to go so you aren't lost, and just laugh. Knowing and realizing that everyone else feels the same really helps. And they really do feel that way. Use your first day for business, focus on school and what you need to do. You will be okay. Where your best " I look great outfit, wake up early to get ready, this should give you the confidence you'll need to make it through the day. Highschool is the end of childhood, not the end of the world, remember that, I hope I helped, and good luck on your first day. ALSO***Don't talk bad about people! This is a sure fire way to become an outcast, be friendly, and positive, people resond well to that.

You'll be fine, you have to learn to exist w/o him by your side 24/7, just talk with people you know and make some new friends. Highschool is what you make of it.

Give a look at the resource websites below. Study the disciplinehelp site to determine if you have any tendencies that require discipline. Offer the website to instructors (teachers) who are being challenged in the classroom. They may not have known of it as a means of finding suitable control measures.
Next, begin to learn what your interests are in life. School prepares us to make our way into the work force. What types of careers do you know about? Which career fields intrigue your interest and/or curiousity? What are your best subjects in school? Learn what fields of industry make use the ones that you enjoy completing the assignments for. If you enjoy problem solving and mathematics is your best subject, you may be interested in pursuing a career in Engineering after college...if you like college...which is another consideration. Do you plan to attend a college or university after high school? The courses offered at most secondary (high schools) are designed either for college level or vocational level career choices. If you want to become a hair stylist, a vocational - technical school or beauty school may be the correct choice for you. Find out what is required to do the work that you believe that you are best suited for and success is a natural result of doing the research and applying your skills and proficiencies toward excellence within your preferred field of study.
As an exercise in determining what career you may be interested in, open a telephone directory to the yellow pages. See the companies that advertise their products and or services. What attracts your interest? Begin there by telephoning a few of the listings to learn what education level or field of interest was pursued to attain the business. Business owners do not actually require a Business Degree; although, it often helps to reduce legal liability and problems associated with inaccurate business decisions. I always recommend that if 'typing' is offered...take it. It serves in college, as well as, to provide an opportunity for clerical positions in college or instead of college.
If you want to develop as a student with a keen understanding of civic organizations, join clubs or organizations that are available to those with interests as extra-curricular activities. If you are a sports enthusiast, perhaps they have a group that meets once per month to discuss sports related activities and to make yourself a member of an organization that is recognized by those who often go on to attain recognition within their communities as leaders and civic organization members. As for college and university involvement, if you plan to join a fraternity or sorority, begin to learn the greek alphabet...now. It is often a requirement that is easier to learn slowly over time than in the two or three week 'RUSH' period your freshman year in college.
Hope these suggestions are helpful. Good luck in planning your course for the future. Remember that you are responsible to determine what is correct for yourself. Friends who you start programs with sometimes become adversaries or your best competition. Avoid those who risk their reputations by experimenting with anything that is considered ... by law ... illegal.
Another fun thing to do is to request a college or university catalog to study about the different areas of study and or requirements to attain a degree or certification. It looks impressive to your teachers, too, if they have your best interests in mind during their tutorage. Enjoy life...enjoy learning...and they rest takes care of itself.
