Where did the American public & the troops in Iraq get the idea that there is a 9-11/Iraq link?

Now, I'm wondering....where did the idea come from if the Bush administration did not suggest it or imply it or outright say it?

Maybe because Bush and his team liked to start sentences with the words "On September the 11th", would mention the word "terrorists" mid-way through the sentence and would conclude with "Saddam", thus implying over and over that there was a tie when there wasn't one.

Soon after 9/11 the Bush administration together with our corrupt media networks presented the American public with this argument and tried to enforce it for the longest time.

They kept repeating the lie over and over again until the week minded fell for the trap and believed the lie.

As long as Americans get their information through our local networks, we will never hear the truth. Those channels are not independent and do not uphold journalism ethics.

They advertised this lie for almost two years until so many people became aware it was only a lie. As for the troops, they keep getting briefed by their commanders and fed the same lie to this date. I know that because I have many friends serving in Iraq right now and they tell me how brain washed they are on daily basis.

probably when Bush used 9/11 to go to war. He had the nation scared, and ready for retaliation. He had undivided support to go to war with AFGHANISTAN. He chose this time frame to go and invade Iraq. Many people knew who Saddam and others were, from the first Bush war, so it wasn't hard to get people to admit that Saddam hated americans. We had no idea, I guess, that there were many more people that hated americans much more, than Saddam did. They did imply it, by using the chaos after 9/11 to prevent anyone from questioning his motives. Now we question, and now we are called un-american for questioning. It's a horrible situation....

as to the 9-11 to Iraq link, there isn't one. as to Iraq linked to al-qaida terrorist orgs, there is a clear link. If you read the 9/11 commission report, this is clearly stated, and tommy franks provides more detail in his book "American Soldier"

The idea came from intelligence reports and believed by democrats as well as republicans.
Also, Sadam bragged that he was involved and that he had WMD's.
