There does seem to be a human problem regarding the discrepancy between the food we like and the food that is good for us. Some kiddy cereals can make us gassy. Often food has both good and bad nutritional components so that we might get both good and bad effects from the same kiddy cereal, for instance, good enough for adults, too. If we get healthier eating food that tastes bad, perhaps that is why we die as we cannot eat bad-tasting food for very long. We attempt to gain the fountain of youth by processing bad-tasting food, such as whole oats, into good-tasting food, such as kiddy sweet cereal, so that we will be more inclined to eat the good food. We don't necessarily eat kiddy food for very long either because the other gunk added can be, or become, stinky. Why do we hate food we wished we liked? Because we're dying.

I don't understand the concept of wishing you liked food that you don't actually like. Is it that you find it inconvenient because people always want to serve you with eggs and tomatoes in the morning?

Believe it or not, it has to do with our individual taste buds on our tongue. Those with a "taste" for sweets, for example, do not seem to like broccoli and other similar vegetables (there are exceptions, beginning with ME). Also, it may very well be the manner they're prepared at home and you may now find that you (or whoever is cooking) doesn't match the manner your mom made them, or you simply got tired of them.
Sometimes, it has to do with being in a different location. Let me give you an example. Suppose you lived in Phoenix, next to a bread company and you loved their white sliced bread. Well, you can move to NY and find yourself similarly living close to another bread company and not necessarily like the bread... even though they use the same formula and ingredients... but the water can make things taste different.
There are many subtle reasons why we like or don't like things but on the whole, it has to do with your own personal taste buds, and how they're arranged on your tongue (more for sweet, less for...)

Don't worry about it! Just eat something else instead. There are endless varieties of delicious foods you can eat. Why fret because you don't like these two? And if someone else is putting you under pressure to eat them "because they're good for you" - just stand your ground and don't eat them. My friend says when her son was little she took him to the doctor because he wouldn't eat tomatoes. The doctor told her not to try to make him eat them. He said "It's his innate sense of what is good for him."

If you hate it, then why would you want to like it? That's weird. make yourself like it. eventually you will get used to the taste..
