Is it crucial to keep the concept of voidable marraiges to give relief to groups who can't countenance divorce?

the law of voidable marriages makes it possible to get married in a church again because a voidable marriage is seen as never being a proper marriage, so if it was never a proper marriage you can't get divorced.

Yes, I think it is. I've only handled a couple in 20 years, & I think nationally there'll only be 50 to 100 a year. The main two reasons are for religious people, eg a Muslim lady I acted for wanted an annulment rather than a divorce because the marriage hadn't been consummated (they fell out at the reception!), and, even more rarely, where one party is suffering from an illness (usually mental), and the other party feels bad about divorcing them when their behaviour is not strictly their fault. Another reason is where one party did not give full consent either because they were forced into the marriage, or somehow misled. Also, of course, it's the correct procedure in cases of bigamy.

Not quite sure what you are asking - what do you mean by "how does it help"?
Depending on your religion or the laws of your country it may be easier to get a marriage annulled that to get a divorce. The idea of an annulment is that the marriage is cancelled because it never should have happened (for example it was illegal), or the terms of the marriage contract have not been fulfilled.
