How can I search for someone on my own?

Question

I have a case pending against my ex for back child support but the problem is I don't know his whereabouts. Earlier this year he left the military but the military of course for privacy reasons will not divulge any information on him. I know his SSN# but how do I find him? I can't afford to hire a private investigator so I am trying to find him myself.

It has been about 4 months since I opened the case and domestic relations still has not located him.

What do I do?

you need to find as much info as you can on him!
His address, birthday, ss#, all phone numbers, maybe even a bill. Track his bills and they usually always lead to his address. If he is in military this will be harder as he may be overseas, however if he is transfered to a different base you could find out if he has local numbers or bills there. If he uses the computer, than thats even a paper trail too. There are a few sites that offer more detail searches for money off a credit card, but i dont like to pay either. That makes a limitation and you have to do more work as mentioned earlier. Below are a few sites that are extremely helpful in putting peices together to find a person.

Try finding out family members and friends also. Depending how you word you interest in finding him, they will probably be the best results. Nobody disappears without having a friend or family member know. Good luck and take care.

The ,military can give you the forwarding address. You have to write to eh headquarters and show in copy that you are the ex wife and they will do it for you.

there are alot of programs online where you can seach by ssn .. there may be a fee but not as much as a lawyer or private investigator
