I wanted to get one because my son died in 2002 and i want to have something permanent to celebrate the life he had, even though it was only a day.

You don't need to bring a perfect picture of what you want for a tattoo to the tattoo studio. If what you are looking for is a combination of images then search the Internet for those images separately then take everything that you think might be what you are looking for to the artist. Then show the artist and ask what will be appropriate for a long lasting tattoo. The biggest misconception people have is that anything that you think is a great tattoo is what the artist should ink on you. In fact though there are many reasons why what you have in mind may not be a good idea for permanent ink on your body. Pictures containing very tiny images and graphics will in 10 years be a blob. Ink in most cases will spread out over time it all depends on the overall size and structure of the artwork. Remember the tattoo artist is just that an artist and he/she will know what is going to look good later on down the road. I know this information seems out there but my fiance owns In the Flesh Tattoo Emporium in Batavia, NY and I have seen some crazy ideas come into the shop and then the person is excited to have it changed to be a long lasting piece of artwork that they will appreciate for the rest of their life. So just be sure to pick a very reliable and established shop and bring your ideas and thoughts about what you want even if you have no pictures the artist will defiantly assist you until you are happy.

if you can describe what you want, a good tatoo artist can draw it on paper first...my girlfriend wanted a daisy, but a different style than what was in their tatoo book, so he drew it, then tatooed her and it was just like she wanted.

that is not a bad thing, it does sound bonding. Be careful with bonding actions. Have you looked down the road? If you are happy whit what you see in the future, then this is a great thing. A tattoo should signify something about you, be a part of you. This is appropriate.

I've never heard of one. I think you just need to draw it out. Any good tattoo artist should be able to take what you want and draw it out for you. Shop around and find someone with tastes that suit yours. Good luck!

that's a good idea, but i don't think so. most tattoo sites want you to pay money just to look at tattoo prints. they horde their artwork like field mice.

better just to look around for cool art like

or
http://www.deviantart.com/
and get a friend who draws to modify it or take it into the tatto shop and ask them to modify it.
