it could be just where the baby is. it might be the baby's back.

Braxton hicks are pre labor contractions do you mean the first stage of labor? You should know because they will be a lot stronger and not as random as braxton hicks yet not predictable in time and length like the second phase of labor in which you should go to the hospital. If you can talk during them then your fine but if they are too strong too talk through you need to go to the hospital as well or call your doctor. You might want to call your doctor or the hospital anyway just to make sure since you arent so sure. Good luck!

Most likely it is braxton hicks. It may lead to real labor though.
You can tell the difference.....braxton hicks will go away. Real contractions will get more frequent and closer together and harder. Real contractions will also be felt a lot in your lower abs. Like menstrual cramps. They usually are felt really low in front and sometimes in a band around to your back. the higher the contraction is on your belly the more likely it is braxton hicks.

Braxton Hicks are unpredictable contractions. For example, you get one then it comes 5 minutes then later it comes 30 minutes. In other words, its not consistent.
Pre-term labor, is consistent. If you have one, time it. If it was 10 minutes then wait another 10 minutes and you should have another one. Then it gets closer together, it takes longer and more painful, but with the same consistency.
Hope this helps.

If it was labor it would keep hurting, contractions will make your entire stomach get hard and tight. They will be very painful and will not ease up. Braxton-Hicks will eventually stop after about 30 or 45 minutes (for me anyway).

Braxton hicks are pre-labor contractions, real labor contractions don't go away when you lay down or relax, braxton hicks usually do, real ones are semi-regular and will intensify with time.

Yes that is the braxton hicks. When the real ones start they are usually lower and more like a real bad menstrual cramp even at first and they don't last as long in the being as the braxtons due.good luck

Typically, the braxtons are not painful, and the contractions feel like cramping. But not aways. If this happens a lot, try drink some water, and then lie down.

I'm 37 weeks too and I get this sometimes. I don't feel any pain with them so I just assume they're Braxton Hicks.
But if you start feeling them with pain, I'd guess they're regular contractions, in which case, you'll probably want to time them and let your doctor know.
Good luck to us! I don't know about you, but I'm ready to have this baby already!

I don't know if that is part of the braxton hicks or not but I remember that happening a lot. You're very very close I do believe.
