I am hoping that teachers could share websites, ideas, ect with me on things I could be doing with kindergarteners and second graders! What stores offer the best deals for teachers? What basic supplies should I purchase? Thanks for your help!

All great websites. When you are student teaching, you won't need to bring supplies for the kids, just you (the supervising teacher will have all of the stuff that the kids need). Maybe a plan book for lesson plans, pens, pencils, some markers - the basics. Some bookstores will give a teacher discount on books if you show that you are a teacher (like if you have a badge from your school) - I know that Borders bookstore does this. Michael's craft store will give a teacher discount if what you are buying is for school (posterboard, paint, etc). Some office supply stores are doing a "teacher breakfast" around this time and give away free gifts for teachers - check and see if you have a Staples or Office Depot near you, these are the companies that usually do this. If there is a teacher supply store nearby, see if they have any specials going on right now. HTH

Hey! I'm a 2nd teacher with a student teacher this year! If I were you I wouldn't buy anything until you've asked your teacher if she/he has it already in the classroom Or maybe another teacher in the school. You shouldn't have to spend your own money. Borrow the teacher's guides to different subjects and look through those so you can get an idea what is being taught.
