Musharraf's intentions may be good...but I don't think that will be enough to convince the radical elements in Pakistan to support such a decision. What's wrong with just keeping it divided the way it is? Allow Hindus in the Pakistani controlled north to move south if they want and vice versa.

Joint rule is impossible. This will not be a proper solution when terrorism is ruling there. First of all, cross border terrorism should be completely stopped. Hate-India campaign should be wiped out. The people of both the countries should be educated about the importance of cordial relationship between these two countries. Brighter points should be highlighted. The youth in Kashmir should be given job opportunities. Efforts should be made to increase the economic and social standards of the people. Particularly women should be given more importance in respect of education, career aspects and grassroot plitics. If alll these things are well established, any kind of rule is desirable.

kashmir belongs to kashmir hindus. it was ruled by hidnu king til 1947 and total hindu population was 18% in valley. every inch of kashmir smells the hinduism. Mata Vishnodevi stands and worshipped as mazza kashmire( mother kashmir) by KPs, from 5000 yrs.
But kashmir valley is lost land for pundits b'cuz congress govt misrule and wrong policies & pakistan sponsered violence
but there will be no peace & prosperity in the valley till all the pundits were given their property back with honourable living. All pakistanies should be quick out.
pak rulers can not survive without hate india slogan and are not trustworty. If joint rule is allowed then pak will ask same for punjab?

Pakistan wants Kashmir desperately and history shows that they have tried every gimmick like wagging war and holding talks they simply want to get foothold in Kashmir.
Past Indian leadership has been Innocent enough to hand them over a part of it. It would be extremely foolish to believe in anything that Pakistan`s Military dictatorship says. Indian leadership should learn from the past mistakes.

Dear Anil,
Your questions is really timely. Before I give the answer to your question please let me know, would you like to share your house with an outsider? I mean will you give the rights of ownership of your house to your neighbourer?
I hope your answer will be big NO; is it not? This is the case of Kashmir, which is your house, in your country, how you can think of sharing it with Musharraf of Pakistan?
Yours,
rsjrsj
