The real guilty party in the commission of war crimes is Israel. Outside the U.S., the world community agrees that Israeli 'collective punishment' on people who have had absolutely nothing to do with the conflict is a fragrant commission of war crimes. Double standards does not begin to explain away this issue.

It sounds like you've already made up your mind. Or are you really open to other perspectives?
Look at it this way. Country-A keeps getting attacked and invaded by a horrible force (Enemy-B) that doesn't care about its citizens and keeps destroying its cities. So, Country-A fights back, including doing anything necessary to keep Enemy-B out of its territory.
From Israel's point of view, they're Country-A, fighting against terrorist groups and surrounding countries that keep attacking them, capturing their citizens, and bombing their cities. They hold territory of their enemies, captured after their enemies started the fight, to ensure that they are not attacked again.
From Hezbollah's point of view, they're Country-A, fighting against the Israelis who won't just lay down and die like they're supposed to. They support the Lebanese people, and think that Israel is an invader who must be utterly destroyed.
Both are right, both are wrong. But in the end, the question is what methods do each use and what will it take for them to stop.
Israel has shown for its entire existence that if it is not attacked, it will not attack others. So, for Israel to stop, all that is required is that nobody attack them. Hezbollah has announced, repeatedly, they they will not stop until Israel is wiped of the face of the map.
So, if one group just wants to be left alone, and the other group wants to commit genocide, who is the terrorist and who is the freedom fighter?

The real terrorists are Hezbollah, who started firing rockets into Israel, not able to determine where they would fall, and not really caring.

Let's try it this way: The country that would much prefer to live in peace (Israel) or the organization dedicated to exterminating that country (Hezbollah). Makes a difference, doesn't it?
