pls i just wanna find out how i can minimize the booting time for my computer.Everytime i switch on i takes long to completely boot.I guess so many applications might be running,can anyone please tell me how to reduce the number of applications running,that turn to slow it down.

Click on Start>Run and type in msconfig. Hit Enter. Click on the startup tab and you will see a listing of all of the program that start each time you boot up your computer.
You may not recognize many of the items but the best way to figure them out is to look at what is written under the command heading to see what program the item is related to. (you may have to click and drag the edge of the command section to see all of it). The only programs that really have to start up with the computer are your antivirus/firewall/spyware programs. The rest can probably be uncheck.
Once done restart the computer. It should boot much faster. If a program or device stops working the way you want it you can go back and have that device or program start up again by putting a check back in its box.

What type of computer do you have, cpu & memory details please.
Couple of things are to check your startup folder and see what's in there. Also a complete virus and spyware scan wouldn't hurt.
Defrag your hard drive.
Also try checking what's listed with MSCONFIG on the far right tab " Startup ", you can uncheck the wasteful ones, but don't mess around here unless you're knowledgabe on what you're unchecking.
If that's not helping, try adding more memory.

you can selectively remove shortcuts from the startup folder in your start menu
and for more startup applications go
START-RUN
then key in msconfig
tap to startup and deselect the unwanted programs
