I just got a 42" HD LCD TV, and am really itching to get a gaming system. The PS3 will be WAY too expensive, so that's out of the equation.
I will only play sports games--mainly football and the occasional baseball. I'm thinking I'd be better off getting a PS2 and have extra cash for the network adapter, extra controller, etc. But I'm really interested in the power of the XBox360 too, especially with my new TV.
So, should I get a PS2 with the extra goodies? Or the bare bones XBOX360?
I'm not a hard core gamer either.

I also had to go through that, first I was going to buy a ps3, but it was too expensive. And you should get a ps2 because it can play dvds, cds, playstation1 and playstation 2 games, and free internet connection, unlike the gay xbox which the controllers are jacked up and you'll have to sell your blood to get the accesories. And ps2 just have better games then xbox will ever have.
P.S. I also have a ps2 and im dang happy about it!!

Wii!!!!!
get the Wii when it comes out. You will get the most out of baseball with the wii remote and football will be good too. The Wii and Ps2 and Xbox are not HD compadable so it won't be in HD. But the 360 and PS3 will. And I hate the 360 cause I have always hated Xbox (besides halo) ppl have had problems with it like blowing out. It also uses more energy than a 42' HD T.V.

Get the PS2. The X-Box 360 wouldn't be worth it. It's too expensive and doesn't have a wide variety of games. The PS2 and it's accesories on the other hand are now afordable, and if you have a GameStop or EB Games in your area you can find second hand games for cheap. Just insist you look at the CD's condition before you buy a second hand game. Happy gaming.

If your'e not a hardcore gamer, and will only play some sports games , then get the Ps2 with goodies and some games! Much cheaper!!!

Don't get the Nintendo wii. You'll get tired after only 20min
I recommend the ps2, especially if you can buy the premium 360

Hell yeah get a ps2! So what if its a little old, still popular!!!! See, if you buy a xbox 360 you'll have to spend like $50,$60 bucks on one game. With ps2 you can buy acceccories with saved money.And you get a variety of choices.Lets say your tired of your games, but your low on budget, you can buy older games like nfl gameday 03,04 and 05 for much cheaper, with xboox360, they dont got `old games.

the new ps2 comes with a network adapter but the x box has better sports graphics and more use of ur tv

PS2, becuse online gaming is free besides the adapter, and I think it is easier controlled than XBOX 360.
