no 2 2 time is not same as 4 4 time. see in 4 4 time the value of a crochet(quarter note) is 1. And in 2 2 the value becomes half. at 4 4 it is 1234-1234 and at 2 2 its 1 2-1 2. so when u will play a quarter note u will play it as the timing 1/2.for example take the time as 1 and 2 and. so it will go like 1. At the 4 4 it will go like
1 and. If u could'nt understand this feel free to IM me or send me a massage. so i can explane u more about anything.

It's very similar but it's not the same. In 4/4 time you have four beats per measure and a quarter note gets one beat. In 2/2 time you have two beats per measure and a half note gets one beat. In most cases you wouldn't even notice the difference between 2/2 and 4/4 when you're listening to it, but if you're trying to play it you have to watch it a little more closely because 2/2 tends to "move" more quickly than 4/4.

The numerator is the number of beats per measure and the denominator represents the kind of note getting one beat.
2/2 is 2 beats per measure
so 4/4 is 4 beats per measure in a music line.

Basically, 2/2 time means there are two beats per measure, and a half note gets the beat (so two half notes makes up a whole measure). 4/4 time means there are 4 beats per measure, and a quarter note gets the beat.

No.
2/2 time has the beat accented every 2 whole notes, while 4/4 has the beat accentuated every 4 whole notes.

2/2 Example: BAH bah, BAH bah, BAH bah, BAH bah...
4/4 Example: BAH bah bah bah, BAH, bah bah bah...
