Get ready for a segregated "Survivor." Race will matter on the upcoming season of the CBS show as contestants will be divided into four tribes by ethnicity. That means blacks, whites, Latinos and Asians in separate groups.

The people who participate should be just as ashamed as the producers. It's like bringing everyone back to the cafeteria in some high schools.

Well as wrong as it seems, we are different our views, style even down to morals, ethics, religion, and the food we eat. We are different and we need to accept that. So maybe it is better for that purpose, if I was stuck on an island I would rather be stuck with people, that I had a common ground with. Than with people who couldn't understand my background, my way of life, my views. Think back to high school or some of you may not have to, hehe. When you go into a cafeteria all the tables are mostly filled with the same race. That is a place where you spend time to mingle and be comfortable and you want it to be pleasant. Unfortunately, some of us fill more comfortable around our own people. You get a few that will mix in, but for the most part that is what you see, even at work it is the same. So, there you have just look around at people and how we co-exits with each other, Survivor is not doing anything we are not already doing. Much love.

And for the record I am not a supporter of any kind of segregation, I just know what I see in life and it's not my choice or battle. I just live and let live along with a little love and kindness.

Another thing it should be called "Suveryor" not "Survivor", seems to me like they want to watch and see how we act in that type of setting if they put the same race together, as if there aren't enough stereotypes. Plus, there could of possibly been some people in the game who didn't want to be around another race, I am sure you had a couple of prejudice contestants.

What is the big deal? We segregate ourselves (supposedly) daily. Even people on here run with the race card. But people actually have the balls to do it publically and now it is a big deal. Face it, we are never going to be free from racial issues. And, personally, I don't think people want to let go. I have seen more than enough questions and answers on here alone that make my comment true. And anyone that has watched Survivor in the past, knows, and I am not being prejudice or racist, but it is true, that the african american team mates always pair up. So, it is nothing new this season. I think it will show that just because you are all the same race on one team doesnt mean that you are better, or underdogs. Plus, anyone will do anything for a million dollars.

I do not see how people can keep watching these so-called reality shows like Survivor, American Idol, and many many others. The television networks are really drawing them out maybe just maybe the first season of Survivor or American Idol was alright but to keep them going is absurd! To racially divide a show such as Survivor is simply trying to put a new twist on a dying show. All that does is show the ignorance of t.v. producers. Enough is enough of the same ol ****. How about some real reality such as hard working Americans who live check by check without health care coverage and so forth. Now that's reality!

CBS has their heads up their ......well you know. This is so wrong! but after seeing how bias Big Brother All Stars has been I shouldn't be surprised! I hope Al Sharpen Jesse Jackson
or anyone of those big mouths trashes CBS for being racist! Now we all know that the four way split will most likely not last more than a few episodes but its still wrong. In a world where equality matters this is a huge step backwards!

Survivor is my favorite show so I'll watch it despite the fact that I don't agree with it. The contestants were apparently not offended or they wouldn't have participated. You know how they have the "curse of the car" meaning everyone who has won the car has never won Survivor. They should have all the car winners back so they could break the curse. But I guess only avid Survivor fans would know what that meant.

Exactly what is wrong with it?? This is Television, Entertainment, not everyday life.

Think about it, IT'S TO GET RATINGS. And you
can bet they will be huge.

I just don't understand the problem. We all come from different nationalities and back grounds, it will be interesting to see how this plays out with the tribes. Strong or weak, WHO WILL WIN??? IT'S A GAME GUYS!!!!!!!

Remember a great deal more than 20 people applied, so obviously they didn't have a problem.

They say they did this in response to viewers who wrote in saying there weren't enough ethnic contestants, not enough diversity...so, they went to the extreme & put the races into groups. It's hype, just another way to get people talking & watching the show. Controversy is sometimes the best publicity. Some stations, I've heard are refusing to air it.

It is a bad idea if you are trying to be politically correct I guess, but in a way it is a good idea. Why the hell not? Yeah, people want to pretend that everyone is the same no matter skin tone or tongue they speak, but it is simply not the truth. Its not that they are being racist, but EVERY race has differences, thats why there are DIFFERENT races. People in different climates and different enviornments have adapted in different ways to survive in their habitat. Certain races are more prone to different types of disease or conditions. I mean think about this logically. They are not saying that one race is better than the other. It seems more of an anthropological study to see which races are more aclimated to surviving.

It proves something I've known for a long time, CBS and it's liberal management are racist..

From the press release I read is divided into "tribes"

The White Tribe
the African American Tribe
The Asian American Tribe
The Hispanic Tribe.
