I have a ton of very good friends who are conservatives. I don't agree with a lot of what they say and I let them know that I don't agree with them. But I respect and like them.

America is all about celebrating diversity. It's a good thing that we don't all think alike. You know the Germans tried that and it wasn't a good thing.

Express your opinion whether it's right or left. A lot of folks just say what they think the other person wants to hear even when they disagree. Debate is the heart of democracy. Kill debate and you kill democracy.

That's why forums like this are so great.

Liberal and Conservatives can live well together, because we moderate the extremism that is rampant in today's politics. If we could just find a way to get rid of all the media outlets that make their living bashing one side or the other like some great big gladiator spectacle. They are making us hate one another.

There would be a lot of debate. My boyfriend and I are opposites, but we don't talk about politics much to avoid the "fists". When we do talk about issues dealing with politics, we learn from one another's point of view even if we disagree at first. Wish you the best.

YES. I am at college and my roommate is a pure liberal and i am a conservative and we have so much in common that it is unbelievable. We just don't talk about politics and respect each other. Now, if it is a married couple, i don't know.

Only if you let it happen.

My best friend is conservative and is marrying a liberal, and they are fine with it.

Also, some of my really good friends are liberal, whereas I am more conservative (Libertarian), and we have no problems.

It can work if you respect each other.. and sometimes agree to disagree.

I wouldn't live with a mate whose views were mostly opposite mine. What would be the point.

Sure, opposites attract, but their relationships do not last.

If they act like children instead of adults, it would be a battle.

They might just avoid touchy subjects. Or respect each others opinions. And both should have a desire not to argue all the time.

As long as there's sexual chemistry one could be an anarchist and the other a criminal republican, it wouldn't matter, there would be passion. What exactly did you have in mind Looney Bean?

I won't date a liberal because I don't understand them and can't respect their views. So opposites don't always attract, they typically collide.
