I had a very heavy flow when I was younger. I wish I knew then what I know now! Use a super plus tampon, AND use the Always overnight pad - it is really thin and comfortable, but really long from front to back. It absorbs A LOT, and I have neved had one leak through. If for some reason you can't use a tampon, definitely buy the Always long overnight pad. Wearing 2 pair of underwear helps keep it really snug against your body with less leakage. Also, you can buy like a "bedliner" pad - it is about 18" x 36" (it will fit across a twin bed) and has plastic on the bottom, so NOTHING will leak through to your bedding. They are in every drugstore and grocery store by the adult incontinent products (depends). Hope this helps - good luck!

I question the advice about not leaving a tampon in overnight. I had hugely heavy periods for 40 years and couldn't imagine getting through the night without at least one tampon - sometimes two on the heavy days - plus a thick pad. I think people overreact.
If you are truly uncomfortable about this overnight, I suggest you simply tell your friends why you prefer not to join them this time. I'm sure they will be very understanding and maybe even give you some helpful suggestions. You're not the only girl in history to have this problem!

I would seriously be going and talking to your doctor about it..They can cartorize the vessels to make the bleeding lessen if they have too, I know some one that had it dont after taking medication for it and it didnt help....As for the sleepover just use a tampon and pad up...better yet use a tampon and a diaper. I know it sounds funny that I am a guy and all and know this but try it.

Tampons should not be worn over night, as well as risking leaving the tampons in for too long it is also a risk because tampons absorb menstrual flow and discharge, when laying down gravity does not do it's job of allowing down and out of the body and so tampons sit absorbing discharge and mucus that dries out the vaginal walls causing vaginal splitting adding to the health risks of tampons – TSS, bacterial infections, yeast infections, chemical exposure.
It is a bit short notice to get a bell-shaped menstrual cup but you should easily be able to get yourself softcups by tomorrow – these are a type of menstrual cup but rather than bell-shaped they are shaped more like a diaphragm and made out of soft plastic; they go into your vagina and sit up next to your cervix. Softcups can be left in for up to 12 ours without leaking and they aren't harmful to vaginal health like tampons so can be left in overnight without causing any problems or having to be changed all the time. They can be bought in quite a lot of stores, if you go to their web site they have a store locator where you can find a local store that sells them, you can also learn a little more about them from their site – http://www.softcup.com
Apart from that you are limited on what you can do; I would simply recommend the most absorbent pads you can find (preferably not commercial pads like Always if you can help it as they pose risk of infection and TSS) and layer your bed cloths, perhaps also take a period blanket to lay on the bed before you go to sleep as well just to make extra sure.
End of the day if you do leak it is not the end of the world, I am sure your friends have leaked from time to time especially if they use tampons or pads like yourself, it isn't embarrassing, it is just menstrual blood, we all have it.

ok, if each and each guy or woman analyzing is uncomfortable speaking approximately menstruation, examine no added: only purchase a stable tampon sort - tampax or "continually" frequently do the trick - and purchase the main important length you employ. once you're youthful, a commonplace would be plenty, yet while regulars do no longer continually do the trick bypass as much as the whole absorbent point. I swim each and all of the time and that i haven't in my existence had a tampon leak at the same time as i grow to be interior the pool (and my bypass gets heavy!). i think of the physique is acquainted with to look out for you in circumstances like that, and besides - a stable tampon could do what it fairly is made for. once you're using a stable, stable, product you will no longer leak interior the pool and you will only could replace it each 4 hours or so. additionally, do no longer forget approximately - probability is very stable that the countless different ladies are coping with an identical element, and you're able to even discover ways to humorous tale approximately it! Even prevalent ladies get their classes.
