Yes, this was a horrible crime. But did it really deserve all the attention that it got? Do we REALLY need to know all the grusome details of a poor 6 year old little girl?

Also - I don't think Karr is the killer. He was just fantacising and wants the attention.

I do agree that Americans need all the information in order to pay attention. I see myself falling into this category sometime. Unless a mass media campaign has been launched, I am unaware of current events.

The only reason I know so much about JonBenet Ramsey is because I lived and went to High school in Boulder Colorado. Hell, I even think I was made to do a paper on it once or twice. Combine that with the 1999 (approx.) Columbine massacre - and I've had my share of "Current Events" for one lifetime. I was even interviewed 2 times by local and national media. If they have those old CNN files, look them up. I'm on there for something like 10 secs.

Yeah, it was a horrible crime. But the thing is, people NEED to be reminded constantly of what kind of freaks there are out there, just waiting to prey on children. For me, it falls under the category of "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer."

And yeah, it did get a ton of media attention, which I think it deserved...my issue with that is - would it have gotten as much media attention if it was a poor black kid rather than a rich white kid?? Sad to say, but probably not.

The first reports I heard about Karr, I was convinced he did it. I heard his DNA was a match to the killer's. Now, I hear they are waiting on DNA. Either way, whether he killed JonBenet or not, the dude is still a whack job and I'm glad he's off the streets.

Stories like Jon Benet and Natalie Holloway only serve to keep the press from reporting on the truly important stories....like islamic terrorists infiltrating the US via the mexican border.
