Talk to your family doctor and get him to prescribe a drug that makes her sick whenever she drinks alcohol. Of course, she must agree to having a problem and want to do such a thing.

The breathalyzer on her car should keep her from starting the car if she's drunk... I've yet to hear of one installed on any vehicle.

The other thing you could do (which would wreak havoc on her life and your immediate family) would be to call the police every time she drove off drunk. They would then compile a history of drunk driving and jail her. That's if she doesn't kill somebody. Once she kills somebody, she won't have to worry about drunkeness again... they will lock her up until she dries out.

well it seems that if drinking doesn't stop her from detouring her driving while impaired, as well as the past accidents, then neither is not having a valid drivers license, that one is left up to the state. you will need visual evidence that she is hazardous to herself and other people. take it to a higher authority if the state of PA doesn't think it is important. they will when she runs over a 6 year old child. otherwise you should provide as much assistance with finding her a designated driver at those times of intoxication. you on the other hand may face suffering from mental instability if something tragic was to happen. good luck. cds
