i have to chosse the subject for my m.b.a. specialization for IInd semester so help?

i have to chooose the subject as major and minor plz guide me for that in whci hfield thre is a good scope
what will be better as major

scope?? probably marketing..because it's more "free" so to speak. however, i would say finance is more Stable. every company needs a good finance background, in order to keep things in check, make profits, know what to do w/ the profits, etc etc.

marketing always seems really fun... but u have to have experience i would say, to even get in the door. very subjective... well good luck! follow ur heart..depending on your qualities... i am more of an "artist" so i'd love to have done MBA in marketing. finance would be the safer choice for me, marketing would be the more fun choice. :)

As a Financial Manager, with a Military Career and a Civilian Career (and now retired), I can definitely state that Finance/Accounting, with subspeciality in some auditing or Cost/Price Estimating is what helped me not only be consistently employed, but I now can enjoy my retirement and return to college to take the FUN stuff I did not have time to do over 30 years ago (namely -- I am taking for fun Digital Photography, more of the just plain I am interested, but not stressing over a career that will be able to support me and my family). That is what you need to decide. Marketing was NOT the way to go over 30 years ago. After all, look around you -- how many products are being marketed or on the horizon right now -- that is limited. How is the birthrate in the US going right now (and the world?) All those folks need someone to help with their taxes, be bank managers, accumulate the costs of research and development to production of a product, etc.

Dont choose and study the subject for the sake of studying.You must have aptitude towards the subject.With the MNC's queing up to come to India ,i think Marketing is better choice where you can meet people and also its requires more travelling,convincing people.If you have passion to meet new people and well versed in the intra personal relationship then Marketing would be ideal for you.
But just think HRD also as an option what with growing career oppurtunities and globilasation India has far more opportunities in HRD as well.But it all boils down to what you want to do.Just take in all the advise and you choose,for its you who is going to toil.Good luck.
