The answers above are all correct. The Guinness Book of Records will confirm that Robert Wadlow was the tallest man of all time, the tallest ever to be measured officially by a doctor in a hospital. However, Wadlow was deformed, with disproportionately long legs. The tallest "non-pathological" - by which I mean non-diseased - man of all time was Angus MacKaskill, who was a perfectly proportioned 7'9''. Read the Guinness Book of Records for a full explanation.

Paul Bunyan.

He must have been 30 feet tall. He was also too busy logging to bother with the Guinness Book of World Records.
