If it's Smokey, it has to be 'Tracks Of My Tears' - what an incredible vocal track he laid down on that one. Runners-up for me are 'You've Really Got A Hold On Me' and 'I Second That Emotion'.

If I had to choose just one track by another artist, then: Stevie Wonder's version of 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered.'

I have to go with those old Temptations hits. "Psychedelic Shack" "Ball of Confusion" "Cloud 9" "Can't Get Next To You." It was like . . . psychedelic R&B. In 1970 that was the hottest stuff on the radio, I always thought. It kinda mixed the Hendrix and Beatles' psychedelic stuff with the great Motown vocals and bass lines.
