Some people have health conditions which make it virtually impossible to lose any weight and very easy to find it! I have a thyroid condition called Hashimoto's disease and it has caused me all kinds of problems including high cholesterol. I had been eating a low fat diet for 5 years and had lost about 80 lbs .... then the disease hit and it all stopped - I still eat healthy and exercise, but the scales do not budge. I guess my rambling point is don't judge people based on their size - maybe something else is causing it besides donuts!

I think they're saying that as a whole, people will be fatter. Not necessarily individuals. You don't always have to fit into the majority. Continue eating healthy, and don't order triple burgers, and 4 burgers, and burgers, all on one bun! Just keep everything in perspective, and don't give in! Keep exercising and going out, even when technology and convenience makes it so easy to do absolutely nothing but sit at home or in the office. Stay fit, healthy, and smart! Be the minority! Best of luck.

Yes I read about this. Fat people will become the norm. I don't think it's because people eat too much I think it's because of the chemicals they are putting in the food. If a person wants to stay healthy and slim than they would have to plant their own garden.

It's true, obesity is becoming an EPIDEMIC! And I feel the # 1 reason for it is drive-thrus and fast food. Why can't we just get the hell out of the car and go inside? Pretty soon, we are gonna have drive-thru doctors offices and drive-thru grocery stores. And as for fast food, it's just absolutely gross. It's nothing but fat! So, if you don't want to be fat like the rest of the world, then walk more than you drive, eat healthy foods and don't use the drive-thru!

We are a fat nation now. Look around. More than half the people you see are overweight. The problem is that Americans are lazy. We need to get off the couch or away from the computer and do something physical.

The news is telling us people are eating more fat in their diet and exercising less.
As long as you eat sensible and do some exercise you will not be one of the people who end up obese.
Kids don't get to play out these days as people feel it is unsafe for them, so they play on computers more and eat more because of boredom.
It is a statistic they are telling us not that all people in the UK will be obese.
The food in schools is less healthy than it used to be as Jamie Oliver discovered when he did his TV programme.

Goodness me, calm down, you've a long way to go before you ever have to worry about that, just keep going for your walks each day, eat less sweet stuff and more fruit and vegetables, but even if you do put on a few pounds you will still be you so calm down.
