right i have to do an art thingy to proove to my brother wot it is can u give me these answers, using ur own words in paragraghs of about 4 or 5 lines please:
1-what is a portrait?
2-name some of the methods which can be used to create a portrait
3-why might an artist be interested in the human face?
4-name some examples from history of how and why portraiture has been used in the past
5-why would you need to be quite rich to have your own portrait?
6-can u think of were u might see portraits in ur everyday life?
7-in wot ways could a portraight show much of the personality of both the artist aand the sitter?
8-give reasons wjhy artist might do self portraits?

1, A portrait is a picture which is wider than it is tall. Usual subjects are fields and ships on water.
2, You can use spray paints, photographs, or even modelling clay
3, maybe because they like lips?
4, Guy fawkes was hung on London Bridge just like in his portrait
5, Because only Piccasso portraits are worth having and he is quite expensive.
6, At the tate and lyle galaxy baar in London
7, If it is a sunny day they will probably be smiling
8, This is good practice if you want to be a tattooist.

u would go to an art gallery or school--college
well u can see from the pose the sitter chose - to what the artist perceived
the artist would be very interested in the human body and all its functions
