I've tried to pause the video and right click to find a save option, but it doesn't work. I've wondered about this for a while because I always see pictures on the 'net from people that know how but I could never get the answer as to how to do it. Please if anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it.

Actually this is really simple to do and you won't need anything that doesn't already come with Windows to do it. Once you find the scene in the DVD you want to capture simply pause the DVD and then look for the key on your keyboard marked, "PRT SCR". Now this is probably the trickiest part of the instructions because lots of key boards have this key marked with slight variations, for example your keyboard might say, "PRNT SCRN" instead or it may even have more written underneath or over these letters, further confusing the issue. Generally speaking this key can be found in the same area as your "DEL" or "DELETE" key.

Once you have located this key on the keyboard and your screen image is what you want it to be, simply hit that key once. This will literally take a snapshot of your screen and place it in the clipboard. To save just open the paint program that comes with Windows (usually START-->PROGRAMS-->ACCESSORIES-->PAINT) and paste the image into a new blank document. Save this image file somewhere and voila! You just saved a screen shot from a DVD.

I hope this was easy enough to understand, but if not please send me an email and I will gladly walk you through this.

Good luck!

ahhh ok, well, I think the easiest way to do it would be to pause it, then hold the alt key, and press "print screen". Then open up Photoshop (if you have it) if not, um... I believe Paint even works. What print screen basically does is copies the information from your screen, and holding alt just copies from the program you currently have open. (of course, just hitting print screen takes an image from the whole screen, which could work just as well)
Anyway, if you open Photoshop afterwards, create a new file, and hit edit>paste. Viola!
Hope that helps :)

if you have windows xp, you'll probably have windows movie maker. also, you'll probably need to copy the movie from the dvd using a dvd ripping program. then just import the video file into windows movie maker and then go to the part of the movie where you want the picture. in the preview windows there's a button with a "camera" on it. click on it and it will "take a picture" and lets you save it on your computer.

I took at yuletide I created a folder "yuletide 2011", and that i aslo backup to an exterior complicatedcontinual, i choose to propose you do to, as you on no account know what's going to take place, and you may loose unrecoverable photos? propose you do no longer positioned then on facebook as facebook can use them without your permission, and there is not any longer plenty you're able to do, the have been updatinf their ToS for 365 days now to make it criminal, they make money on p.c.. published to their website and you do no longer? My photos uplaod to my computer the sam way yet you could rename and in my opinion upload an keep, or delete the undesirable ones.

Some DVD player software allow you to do that. I found one or two that were free. I can't think of the names right now.
