My bf lives in another country and he's coming to visit me; I want to make him a big sign for the airport, and I want it to say something funny or cute instead of just his name...

What country is he coming from? You could make a sign in that language - if it's a non-English country. Or you could just wait to tell him something funny instead of writing it on the sign. As soon as you see him, start jumping up and down and scream or something - that would get his attention fast...:D

Does he have a nickname that you call him? I know that couple's nicknames are usually pretty embarassing (for example, my best friend would only refer to her boyfriend as Captain Sexy Pants in public, because it made him blush.) If you have a nickname for him, put that on a poster and hold it up.
Or, if you have a really cute picture of the two of you together, you could just make a large copy of that, and put it on some poster board.
