I have done my reading NO fishes just don't have the capability to feel pain but they do suffer from a stress when they are hurt.

Not unless digging up vegetables and eating them is cruelty. It's how we survive. Fish eat other fish. By your point, wouldn't that have to be considered cruelty? It's predation upon another animal.

Well I don't think fishing is cruel if you are catching a fish for food purposes, or catching and releasing. But what I find to be cruel is catching a fish then taking it to a taxidermist. That just seems barbaric.

If you fish for food then no. If you just fish and have no intention of eating the fish later then yes - what is the point.

Yup, its cruel.
Forget the hook thing, and "fish dont feel pain", how would you feel if you were (painlessly) dragged into the nearest river and held there for a while, possibly till you drowned!

It isn't if you're careful about it. Fish do feel pain, which is why you need to do everything quickly, like taking out the hooks, and killing them humanely. In my opinion, it's OK to kill things you intend to eat, as long as you do it quickly and as painlessly as possible.

No because a much bigger fish might eat them anyway so its not like people fish for sport like they do hunting animals. They actually do eat the fish.

I'm no fish, but I'd guess that getting a hook through your mouth would hurt.
