3 Brits and an Aussie are spending two weeks driving in the US and the aim is if possible to create a playlist of songs that will be so long we don't have to repeat the same song twice.

We have 3 criteria for the songs they either have to be about:
- being on the move
- America in some way
- or simply true driving classics

That's it. We have a starter for ten here: http://playfulplanning.blogspot.com/2006/08/road-trip-usa-style.html

But I want to know what you would play, listen and sing along to.

Send 'em through!

If anyone is interested I will post to my blog the complete list of tracks, so if you ever do the same thing, you've got a load of songs to start with.

Well you didn't say if you wanted just rock songs or not so I've put as many driving related songs as I can think of on this list.

GOIN' DOWN THE ROAD FEELIN' BAD - GRATEFUL DEAD
HIGHWAY SONG - BLACKFOOT
2 TICKETS TO PARADISE - EDDIE MONEY
RUNNING ON EMPTY - JACKSON BROWN
BORN TO BE WILD - STEPPENWOLF
BORN TO RUN - BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN

ON THE ROAD AGAIN - WILLIE NELSON (THE GRATEFUL DEAD did a different song w/ the same title. Both are very cool)

DETROIT ROCK CITY - KISS
ROADHOUSE BLUES - THE DOORS
VENTURA HIGHWAY - AMERICA
RAMBLIN' MAN - ALLMAN BROTHERS
LIFE IN THE FAST LANE - EAGLES
CRUISIN' - SMOKEY ROBINSON
KING OF THE ROAD - ROGER MILLER
HIGHWAY TO HELL - AC/DC

HIT THE ROAD, JACK - RAY CHARLES
MANIAC MECHANIC - ZZ TOP (tons of tunes here!)
RADAR LOVE - GOLDEN EARRING
DRIVE MY CAR - BEATLES
LOW RIDER - WAR

There's gotta be thousands, guys. Good luck~
