My first guess is insecurity, but the fear and threat of knowledge must be a part of it too.

Maybe they are just agumentative?

Don't they know that this is a room for SCIENCE, based on evidence and data. Nothing in here should have anything to do with faith. Of course, faith is all they have to go on.

They have the problem that they don't like science because science has a tendency of producing inconvenient facts.

But at the same time, they realize that they can't convince people not te believe in science because science has a high status in our society.

Therefore, they make up pseudo-scientific versions of their faith-based, right-wing-politics-based or whatever arguments they have for their viewpoints, and try to convince others that their pseudo-science is science.

Well, it's not any different than the argumentative screwballs who insist on challenging them with science in the religion categories. Welcome to the internet.

I think it's a phase many people go through. I used to argue with bible thumpers, but now I see there is no point to it. Live and let live. All kinds of good people out there that believe or don't believe a lot of different things. The real challenge is to find a way to coexist without killing each other.

Most of your theories are based on the blind faith that something came from nothing. You choose to believe that life as we know it came from some great big cosmic accident and we are the result millions of unexplainable chance happenings. I believe that I have been crafted in the image God and not after a primitive ape.

Your question was about religious screwballs posting here. I am by no means a religious screwball. I assume you have an extensive education in the sciences as do I. However, I chose long ago to think outside the box and not jump off the cliff with the other lemmings.

It isn't really their fault. Many people are told as children that a certain religion is completely true and shouldn't be questioned. Because they are told this at such a young age by people they trust absolutely they are unable to question their faith, and harbour a deep resentment for anything that contradicts it, like science, or other religions. They're just as afraid of you as you are of them.

Probably the same thing that causes non-religious screwballs to post questions gripping about the religious in here?

Want them to stop. Ignore them. If they feel no one is listening they will go somewhere they think someone is listening.

Attack them and first off your then just as bad as they are and second now they know that they have your attention.

So hey good job... and keep yelling at people you don't want to get posting from and for sure they will keep posting cause they think your listening.

These are people who belive in religion very intently, but do not want to reject science. therefore they try very hard to reconcile faith and science, not realizing that it is pretty difficult.

Hey man, even though I'm not a "religious screwball" I think you should just leave them alone and not get all worked up about it.

There is a mental condition, where people have to try to prove others wrong, so they can feel they are right.
