Because of the acoustic quality in the bathroom and your voice echoing off of the walls or something like that. My English teacher always said to practice reading things in the bathroom. Oh and my brother added that the moisture in the air helps as well because then your throat is moist.

a few factors actually:

one the notes seem higher becauseof the accoustics in the confined space of the bathroom. also, the water is quite possibly loosening your vocal cords giving you a better range.
plus the stress factor! youre in the shower relieving stress, but just being near that mic is putting stress on you
