The best time is between 11 & 12 months.
Here are some excellent tips for weaning your baby.

1. Offer your baby a cup instead of a bottle, and follow his cues. He may seem interested and may drink from it properly; if he has trouble or just refuses, try again in a few days.

2. Make a family policy that your baby can't walk around with his drink or play with his bottle. This will make it clear that he needs to eat at regular meal and snack times, rather than always holding on to the bottle. Follow similar rules yourself so you don't send mixed messages.

3. Substitute other things that will comfort your baby if he seems to be using his bottle as a pacifier. These should include extra attention and affection, as well as special games, toys and books.

4. If your baby gets thirsty at night, keep a spillproof cup of water nearby and offer it to him in lieu of a bottle when he wakes. The nighttime bottle is often the most difficult to lose, but doing so is important. Using formula, milk or juice at night harms your baby's dental health, as the liquid will pool in the mouth, coat the teeth and lead to severe decay. Bottles also pose a choking hazard.

On the night before my kids 1 st b-day, I threw out all bottles and replaced them with bright colored sippy cups and thier favorite characters........I never had a problem.

they recommend weaning the bottle around one year of age, any older than that can lead to tooth problems.
I was left on the bottle until I was two and I had to have some of my front teeth drilled out when I was four due to bottle rot.

some say don't take the bottle away on the kids birthday, I didn't I gradually introduced the sippy cup around 8-10 months old and by the time they were 1 yr. they didn't want the bottle, they wanted the prettier cup.
I got them with pretty designs on it and the bottles were plain.

Sometime after 1 yoa. My 2 children that I've weaned stopped using the bottle just under a month shy of their first birthday, when I introduced the sippy cup. It allowed them to drink faster and get back to play. They had given up their bedtime bottle before they turned 1.

I just took the bottle away from my daughter when she was 13 months old. She was already drinking from a tippy cup and a straw so I just felt that she had other options so I just boxed all the bottles up and she didn't care. She wasn't attached to the bottle.

Why is your wellness adviser advising you to wean him off the bottle???? he will trouble-free approaches to drink out of the no drip sippy cups in case you grant them. frequently somewhat one is weaned by skill of a million-a million a million/2 years previous from the bottle because of the subject bottles reason to tooth. anyhow attempt the no-drip sippy cups as that would not come out somewhat rapid they nonetheless might desire to suck to get something... good success, and that i did no longer right away assume you have been giving the newborn soda-pop, I figured it is going to be juice. lol.....

I took the bottle away from my kids on there first birthday...(my children were ready and asking for a sippy at this age)Then I gave them a spill proof sippy.... You should ask your family doctor or if you participate in WIC ask them... They give me all the information I need about stuff like that...

All mine were weened after 3 years when they were eating good. They got a bottle for naps and to go to sleep. At age 3 the bottle got lost. Everyone is different I felt the baby needed the nutrition and I know most mothers I knew breast feed until the child was 3.

Pediatrician's now recommend that you switch them from a bottle to a cup at 1 year. I switched them to sippy cups on/near their first birthdays.

i think when a kid can ask for the bottle and walk around with it, then it is time to say good bye to the bottle and start with a sippy cup.
