Nuclear radiation used to treat cancer is not as much becaus it is administered in doses that a human being can handle, never the less, it is harmfull and there is a reason, why people loose their hair and their skin becomes almost gray.

While it will kill the cancer, it will also damage other things within your body...

And in bigger doses? Well, that just fatal

The three main forms of what we think of as nuclear radiation are gamma, beta and alpha.
Gamma represents the hard radiation. It is decided a killer, especially when you are close to it. It radiates rather like light and reaches some distance. It's the part of a nuclear explosion that creates whadow images of things that have been vaporized. Don't want much of that in our lives.

Beta has a weaker influence. You have to be fairly close to the radiating source for it to be damaging. Still not good though as it can screw up DNA.

Alpha, the weakest, would appear to be the 'safest'... however alpha particles, or 'warm' particles are the main component of fallout. They don't have much reach, but they do get ingested, and once embedded in,ung or digestive tissues, can cause cancer.

So, no, nuclear radiation is not good for you. Under highly controlled circumstances, it is used to kill cancerous tissue... but great precaution has to be taken that it only hits the cancerous tissue. Before this was refined by the medical profession, many people were cured initially of their orginal cancers, only to later die of exposure to the 'cure'...

Sunlight is radiation you know. Some of it can be good for you. Too much, not so much a good thing.

Nuclear pwder or nuclear fuel is not dangerous but nuclear raditions are very dangerous as they are active, wheras the formal are not. I guess the consequences on Nagasaki And hiroshima is enough for an example.
Nuclear is not an element. It is a form of radioactive materials like Uranium and Thorium. Radition is also used for treating cancer, but that type of radation is different, which is comparivtiely less strong and done is in a controlled manner.

WHAT!!! That's insane, radiation in small doses affects your growth and may kill you especially pregnant moms. Do you want your child to look like a cyclop? Unless you do surgery because laser can be use for bloodless operation or something and for chemotherapy sessions for cancer patients.

ike anything it's a cumulative effect. If i saturate your environment in something chances are you'd develop cancer. if the doses are small and spaced out it shouldn't do much, but bathing in radiation would be bad

Usually and most emphatically NOT. One exception is of course radiation therapy to treat cancer ..........

By the way, in early twentieth century, people thought that radium had powers to cure diseases, and even impart magical powers, virility etc. There were even mouthwash containing radium compounds. For those who used these, it was horrible premature death with cancer of the jaw, bones etc.

Small doses probably won't harm you, I've done nuclear experiments in college and i don't have six fingers on a hand or tentacles, but they won't benefit.

If the radition kills your cancer cells, it can save your life. Or, too much radiation can kill you. Soft of like bullets, used to protect you from terrorists, they are good for you, but used by terrorists...
