My car was fingerprinted due to a break-in. I was informed that the material used for fingerprinting is cancerous and that procaution should be used in cleaning. I would like to receive details on the materials used, and best practices for cleaning.

You might repeat a 2 step process. Since it is a combination of finger oil and the dust, first use detergent, and then use rubbing alcohol. Just guessing. Obviously, wearing non-porous gloves during the process.
