If a person called the police information desk at a police station 12 times in a day, each time asking a real question. Then called 12 more times the next day, each time asking a real question. What would be the odds that this person would be arrested for phone harrassment. And keep in mind that each time this person calls, the same operator will be picking up the phone.

THis is maybe the most pointless question ever on Yahoo! answers. My advice is stop calling the freaking Police so they can do their job. If they are VALID (and different) questions he wouldn't be arrested. But if he is asking whther to use a Ticonderoga pencil for his SATS or which shoe should be put on first, or why we park on a driveway, then I would put his butt in lockdown.

I guess it would depend on this operator. If the person was uptight, charges might be filed rather speedily.

I would think however, that other methods would be used to deter the caller before arrest was considered. Warnings, etc.

On the other hand, the caller's sanity might be questioned and they could attempt to bring in a pschologist to evaluate this person.

You will only be arrested if it's a crime. If its an information desk, then I don't see the harm. You really shouldn't tie up police lines with stupid questions anyway

If it was my ex-wife, the chances are zero. She has made numerous false police reports, and yet everytime I get questioned and she gets away with it.

it depends on the questions but more than likely the person would be told to quit calling.
