If emotions are composite, eg jealousy is a blend of anger and fear, which are the fundamental 'building block' emotions?

Well, that's not really how emotions work ... so your premise isn't really correct so there isn't an answer to the question. There are fundamental emotions (distress and content), and then secondary emotions (joy, anger, disgust, fear, surprise, etc.), but there aren't really "primary" emotions that combine to form other emotions. They do kind of work on a continuum, but it's much more complicated than that.

anger is a form of fear

so i would say

fear and love are the two primary emotions.

primary emotions are:
happiness and love,
fear and anger,
anxiety and stress.

Anything else is a combination

the three primary emotions are: Anger, Joy, and sorrow.
it is only from these primary emotions are formed.
jelosy is a form of anger, etc.

Happiness, fear, sadness, anger, jealousy, surprise and protectiveness. The rest are just symptoms of them.

Desire is prime (not neccessarily sexual).

The other emotions come as a result of success or failure to fulfil the desire.
