It is round with a chord that you pull to draw out the air from the kitchen to the outside. I can't find any place that still sells them.

Try an antique dealer or used kitchen item junkyard. They are available but very hard to find unless you are in a very large city. Even then it may be hard to find. Have you tried on the net?

Exhaust fan is not installed over the stove. It is meant to draw out hot air from a kitchen and throw it out into an open space outside the kitchen.

You are mistaken, for installing over the stove a chimney is used.Ther are many manufacturers in the yellow pages. The air inside the kitchen is oulled through the chimney out.Or else install any ordinary exhaust fan which is economical in any wall to the right or left of the burners.
