Not at all. I think that Willy just knew going in that MOST of the winners of his contest were likely to be rich, spoiled brats, and he treats them (and their parents) accordingly. He probably knew all along that Charlie was the one who was destined to inherit the factory.

Willy Wonka is Micheal Jackson in disguise (or is it vice versa).
He loves kids-a lot.

No, but he is a lot like a kid and as such he likes to pick on them. It is all in jest. Besides, they have to learn on their own the way he did. That is the point. He wants them to do things the way he has been doing them. If they can't then they aren't right for the job.

He doesn't hate kids. What choice does he have in how he acts? It's hard trying to find someone to take over the business.

Well, yes. Probably "hate" is too strong a word. He doesn't like them (or other humans) much at all. Do read the book for a better insight!

I don't think he hates kids as such. I think he is disillusioned with people in general, and treats kids more as adults who are behaving badly with some of the common faults such as greed and selfishness.

Of course not, he thinks they are delicious.

Thats why he fattens them up with his candy. Not only does it make them juicier, they can't run away quite as fast when he sends the Oompa Loompas to fetch a tender little snack.

I could say the dep. version. i in my opinion thought that on the tip of the unique Wonka grow to be fairly propose on the start. Depps character did no longer look to dislike babies as lots. I propose the humor grow to be definately distinctive in the two. I dont think of the dep. character hated babies, he disliked naughty babies!

I don't think so. Maybe he makes candy to make kids happy. Does that sound like he hates kids?

Yes he does. he makes candy and stuff that is bad for kids health. He can't stand kids and therefore he punishes them.
