Even if he is a college student, he has to pay child support. If you don't have court ordered support, get one. Most states have free legal aid. If you receive food stamps or any help from the state they will help you establish paternity and get court ordered support. There is a child support worksheet online - they use the same formula in all the states. Even if a parent is unemployed they figure that their income is minimum wage for 40 hours a week - even if that parent is unemployed. Usually a child support order will include medical insurance/expenses. Also there will be visitation guidelines. Most attorneys have a free consultation.

Well first off, it sucks, but that's because the government gets involved and they screw it up all the time. But we still have to pay, men and women alike. However any man that would not help his own children deserve to be screwd. So yes he does have to pay, and you don't need to get a lawyer, just go to your local Support Enforcement Office, and they will help you get the ball rolling. They also charge interest on any back support owed, so tell the prick, to get a side job, he's got another mouth to feed.Oh and yes they can through you in jail, if you totally refuse to pay.

First off this is not just a male thing, there are women out there that do not pay their child support. As was said if it is court ordered then yes he is to pay you, end of story. Talk with your attorney and file against him. He had as much to do with her conception as you did, and he has an obligation to his daughter.

if your child is still under the age of 18 and there is a court order... he has got to pay every month by law... If you havent been to court yet then get an attorney and start making sure you have proof of everything that you have purchased that she needs... you can take him to court and get a court order from now and whatever he hasn't paid in the past... Get Him Girl, dont let him do that to you or your child

No. It doesn't automatically stop the debt.
Taking any sort of unilateral action regarding child support is stupid and wrong. It is true that you can usually get a forgiveness or a lowering based upon the fact that you are trying to improve yourself in some states, but you have to go to court to do it. Doing it by yourself is a nasty way to get arrearages.

If he has any type of income coming in, regardless if he is in school, he is obligated to give you something. It may not be the price you are wanting, but something definately needs to come your way. Get in touch with an attorny and see what your options are. Good Luck

Just because he doesn't want to pay doesn't mean your child doesn't need things like food, clothes, shelter, etc.. If he can't handle college and child support, then he should drop out and get another job. Kids come first, period.

What does this have to do with "Fashion & Accessory?"

Anyway, men who father children must pay child support. But the amount they pay is based on their income. If he has no income because he is a student, then technically he is correct.

He's a scum for not caring for the child he created, but you picked him honey, not me.
