i like all people.
there are good and bad of all!!!
my daughter is white as am i.
she dated many scuzzy drug dealer losers!!
she did date one nice black guy who was christian.
many black people hold us whites accountable for the past.slavery stuff and all. i would never have treated anyone like slaves were treated.
but today 2006, many blacks choose to still talk ghetto. not proper english. this makes them look bad. we even have whites doing it too.!!
i myself look at tv, i feel sorry that most shows are mostly white people on it.
i think how black people must feel.
iam sorry for all of this.
but you cant judge all of us by some stupid ignorant whites!!!
one of my best friends is black.
it just seems like many blacks donot try to better them selves. hence the steriotypes???

well in my opinion blacks have never been dealt a fair hand and being a 27 year old black woman i can honestly say that because i have experienced it my whole life the only way you will get ahead in life is to act and talk white because the ghetto stereotype that is put on black people is real so if people are gonna think negatively about you no matter what you do then why even try that is no excuse i know but you don't understand because you don't have to live it all i have to say is live as a black person for 1 day then you will understand exactly what i am saying i go to school work 2 jobs and i am still looked down upon by some whites why is that? the only thing i can think of is because i am black i am a law abiding citizen i pay my taxes and take care of my family what makes me any less than a white woman doing the same thing??? because society made it this way years ago and sadly i think things will always be this way just on a smaller level but i am thankful that there are open minded people in this world like you who are willing to give people a chance based on merit and not color GOD bless you.

Actually, I think the 'races mixing' is the future. Every generation more will mix, and once they're mixed, you can't separate them again!

If you look at history, any time two (or more) people came together, they eventually become hard to separate. Consider England ... the celts, anglos, saxons, normans were all separate people. Some english have 'celtic' features, etc, but essentially, they're all a mixed bag.

That's going to happen over the next say, thousand years. Maybe much less. But 10k years from now, the odd person will be paler or darker or have curlier or straighter hair, but its really inconceivable that we'll still have distinct races.

Maybe some people think that's terrible, that we'll lose some variety. But its certainly not the worst outcome either.

I don't feel that when races mix, the kids suffer...I'm sorry but that comment doesn't make any sense. Why would a kid make fun of another kid b/c he's mixed? Unless that kids parents are prejudice and only stay within their race then yeah I'd see that, but if not? Then that doesn't make any sense. Kids are going to make fun of kids anyway b/c their KIDS. Anyway to my other comment...I see what you mean about blacks acting ghetto and using ebonics as a language when it ISN'T...its just slang. I'm black and my sister and myself were raised to speak proper english. We did get a little made fun of when we were younger, but now that we're older I think we're more respected b/c we don't act ghetto and speak in slang 99.9% of the time. My parents are a interracial couple...but my dad does speak proper english. Its all the way how you are raised and in your environment. Chances are if you were raised in the ghetto you are going to speak it and act like it...if not then there's more of a chance that you will use proper english....

As a Black male, I get pissed off when people say things like I'm not racist ..my best friends are Black...why should I be blamed for slavery as a white...Black people seem like they don't want to better themselves...you said those things and it seems like you said what you said to feel better about your self...either you're guilty about the opportunties you have as a white looking person or from your family's background....if you're not, then stop talking about it

This is why I hate the media...it portrays stereotypes and sensationalizes events...Black on Black crime and drugs are tragic but what about the child molesters in catholic churches, the neo Nazi's in the midwest, trailer park folks smoking crystal meth and beating on their wives or kids...****, what about kiddie porn and pedophiles...there is alot of bad **** in the world that dose'nt involve Black people....slavery was 400 years of oppression, the government should pay us reparations for those heinous acts....even after slavery ended, we had to find our place in society and for the most part, we've been successful....quite successful...there are Black millionaires...we move into the wealthiest suburbs and work for fortune 500 companies....the time has come for us to rebuild the poor communities we abandoned and left...help the uneducated and stop the cycles of poverty and ignorance....someone mentioned race mixing....we went through involuntarily with slave masters raping the females...so their wives would'nt get pregnant so often...we go from near white to very darkskinned....it's 2006 , race should no longer be a issue...you should be judged by the content of your character ..not by the color of your skin...we are individuals...what one does should'nt affect how others are viewed...that is prejudice simple and plain....pre-judging people without knowing them...the Jewish, the Italians, and irish before us went through a stage similar to what we faced but they are excused for the mafia and bootlegging....it's swept under the rug...they have assimilated into european American society....the latinos, Arabs, and asians can't do that...well, the asians do...they want to be caucasians so bad...most of their women date and marry white men just to feel like Americans.....the middle easterns and latino are the new African Americans....and we are the new Italians in my book.

They will say things like blacks are likely to get diabetics more than whites.
Blacks suffer from cancer more than whites.
There are more Aid infected blacks than whites.
There are more blacks with mental problems than whites.
Blacks suffer from more kidney infection than whites.

1. Blacks are not portrayed badly. It's only your perception. There is nothing like black or white. Black is not a negative word. It has been portrayed as a derogatory remark. but that's not true. Black is like Russians, Americans, Chinese, Indians, Buddhists, Jews etc... it is only a nomenclature. the word does not carry any qualities.
Please do an exercise. Try to write down one person's name each day, who are popular in their own field, who you think belong to the community Black. Your list will never end. And your perception vanishes. Some clues for your exercise : sports, music, international organizations, freedom movements...........

When referring to People, Why not refer them to just that....just a suggestion, this way....when you say "Hence the stereotypes", I will be able to concentrate on why your daughter was allowed to date the scuzzy drug dealers.
