I was wondering if anyone has ever had a problem with Pantry Pests, those ugly tan colored moths that usually hang out in your kitchen, and what can you do to get rid of them? I guess they are also known as Indian Meal Moths. I don't know where they are coming from (there are a few of them flying in each of the rooms in the house) but they are really annoying.

Here is a pic of what they look like:

Thank you.

There are strips you can get from seed catalogs that will help take care of them. Also if you put any of your meal type items in plastic containers that seal very well and then put them in the freezer, it will help too. They can get in under the seals of a lot of the plastic containers. They like the meal things, like flour, pasta, rice, any of the grains and they are hard to do away with but keep at it and get the pest strips from the seed catalogs. Also get some raid naturals the one that is organic based and use it sparingly. It helps too. I had that problem for some time and thought I would never get rid of them. Good luck.

They're drawn to grains and often get into boxes. Best thing to do is pull everything out of your cupboard and wash down the inside. Then take everything that appears to be sealed in a box, open the box and put the contents into a plastic ziplock bag. This will keep the buggers out and you may find where they're coming from.

You need to seal up ALL your food in moth-proof container, or they'll keep coming back. They seem to be able to navigate through threaded screw-top jars. So tupper-ware like things probably work better. No plastic bags - they'll eat through it.
