the Baltimore Sun published an unsigned editorial on August 15, 2006, entitled, “An Imperfect Cease-Fire,” dealing with Israel’s unjust invasion of Lebanon, which took the lives of over 1,100 Lebanese and left a million of its people, one third of the nation, homeless; along with tens of billions in damages. It must have been ghostwritten by Sen. Joe Lieberman, a flaming Likudnut. It stated, contrary to all the well-know facts: “Israel was dragged into this war by Hezbollah in early July.”

Offering such an absurd opinion is like arguing that Israel was “dragged into” attacking a clearly identified USS Liberty, on June 8, 1967, and killing 34 of its crew, because it couldn’t stand any state of the art intelligence vessel, flying the American flag, and sailing in international waters, 14 miles off the Sinai coast. The Israelis’ dubious excuse for that murderous assault was that it thought the USS Liberty was an out-of-service Egyptian horse carrier transport boat, El Quseir. (5) If anyone expects to read the truth about a habitually-deceiving Israel, vis-à-vis the Middle East, don’t look to the Baltimore Sun’s editorial page to find it. (6) By the way, talking about proportionality, if Israel can destroy Lebanon because two of its soldiers were captured, what should the U.S. have done to the Zionist state for slaughtering 34 of her bravest sons and injuring 174 more on the USS Liberty?

This "war" is all about Israeli aggression and occupation of Arab land. This is not a new problem; it has been the issue ever since Israel took land to become Israel. Today the Israelis continue a policy of aggression and destruction, and this is due to their "Iron Wall" mentality. Everything the Israelis do only fans the flames of hatred against them; this latest incursion is only a continuance of their policy of occupation and violence agaisnt the Arabs. The capture of two soldiers by Hezbollah was not the reason for the Israeli response, it was an excuse. The Israelis will do anything at any opportunity to destroy and demolish the lives of the Lebanese, the Palestinians, anyone they perceive as a threat, which is just about everybody. It is this psychotic jewish paranoia which is the problem, and the real "root cause" of the present conflict was not, as George Bush so stupidly kept harping, Hezbollah. The real cause goes back 60 years and can be laid at the feet of the British, who were really instrumental in backing the formation of the jewish state. Anyone who blames the problem on Hezbollah or any event going back a matter of weeks or even years is ignorant of history; the real cause is decades old. The UN resolution that ended the present round of violence means nothing, and the violence will continue. There will never be peace until Israel gets out of the lands it occupies, and this includes Lebanon, which it has occupied in one way or another for 24 years, and also the 85% of the West Bank which is under jewish control. Israel just doesn't get it, and keeps doing things that only make matters worse. Their definition of "self defense" is terrorism to anyone else except the US and Britain, and it is Israel who is the real terrorist. Unfortunately, most of what we hear, especially in the US, is always the biased jewish-Israeli version of events, and this has nothing to do with facts and everything to do with jewish denial. Look at the real history going back almost 100 years ago and it is apparent who the terrorist is, and it is Israel and the Zionists.

Hezbollah has scored a real publics relations coup. When Lebanese people returned to their demolished bombed-out homes they found Hezbollah was already there, handing out thick packets of $100 bills to every family whose home was wrecked by the US/Israeli coalition, a total of $12,000 per family; part of a $600-700 million dowry from Iran. So Hezbollah is the benefactor of the people; Israel and the US are the jewish terrorists, the destroyers. The real losers here are Israel and George Bush, who appear more and more like the terrorists they claim to be fighting. US money buys planes and bombs and missiles used against the Lebanese people; Iran and Hezbollah provide the money to rebuild their shattered lives.

I have created an image that I think captures the Israeli spirit. It is on my yahoo360 blog and consists of the shield of David surrounded by four black rectangles which represent Aggression, Occupation, Genocide and Terror, which are the cornerstones of Israeli policy towards Arabs, and which when taken together create a more sinister conceptualization.

The reason for the attack on Lebanon is as given - two Israeli soldiers were kidnapped and some others were killed. Israel has a policy of extreme reciprocation, thus if you kill one person, 100+ get killed. This is probably the stupidest foreign policy to take against terrorists who will then use that reaction to show how they are persecuted, but it is the Israeli policy.

This doesn't mean that Israel was "dragged into this war", they could have chosen to respond properly, but they didn't bother to listen to reason and thus caused this failure.

The attack on the USS Liberty was a huge mistake and one the Israeli's apologized for. Did Hezzbolah appologize for kidnapping two Israeli soldiers? I don't think so.

When Israel began a "quest" for the soldiers into Lebanon Hezzbolah responded by firing some 5000 rockets into Israeli cities killing dozens of civilians and causing tons of damage. The response to the 100 to 200 rockets a day was the full blown invasion of Lebanon to get at the missle \ rocket launchers.

With your hatred of Israel so well defined in your letter and "statement" I have to wonder...would you make Adolph proud with your opinion?

What are the "well known facts" that contradict the statement that " Israel was dragged into this war by Hezbollah in early July?"

How can you possibly equate their response to Lebanon with the attack on the USS Liberty? What possible motive would Israel have in alienating their largest ally by knowingly attacking a United States war ship?

In answer to your question, in addition to the latest provocation, how about recent decades of seeing their civilians maimed and killed by Islamic Fascists?

Israel was attacked in early July in a cross-border raid by Hezbollah guerillas (I'm being nice calling them guerillas). Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers (who have still NOT been returned), killed eight others, and opened up with a rocket barrage on Israeli cities. BTW the rocket attacks have been almost continuous, averaging about 5-10 rockets per week since Israel unilaterrally withdrew from Lebanon in May 2000.

So tell me...what is a sovereign nation to do when it is under persistent attack from an incorrigible enemy?

Oh...and one last thing...you are an idiot.
