Was your LMP around April 18, 2006? If so, then you would have concieved when you had sex on May 2, 2006, which would have been your ovulation time.
So, you got pregnant in May, but doctor's count from your LMP, which is in April.
Your due date is (???): Jan. 23, 2007 (if you concieved May 2nd)
Here is how it woks:
Doctors calculate from the first day of your last period.(LMP)
You ovulate 14 days after the first day of your period.
Conception occurs within a couple of days before, during and after ovulation (3-5 day window).
Sperm can live 3-5 days inside the woman's body
The egg can live about 48 hours after leaving the ovary.
If egg & sperm don't meet, your period will begin 2 weeks later.
If egg & sperm meet & fertilize, them implantation will occur within 4-6 days. You will miss your period.
By the time you miss your period, you will have been pregnant for four weeks (two weeks gestation).
When you miss your period, you take a home pregnancy test or go to the doctor's office for testing. Either way, you still need to go to the doctor's off and start prenatel care.
This way the doctor becomes familar with you & your pregnancy, and you get a better chance of having a happy & healthy baby.
The first trimester(months 1-3) is the most important, as the most developments occur in this stage.
I hope this information has been helpful.

If you had sex in April after your LMP, then you probably conceived in april. Having sex May 2nd and find out you were pregnant on may 10th only gives a window of 8 days and I don't know of any at home pregnancy tests that could pick up such a trace amount of Hgc hormone, unless it was confirmed by a doctors blood test. AN ultrasound can find a more exact date for you especially if its done in the first 12 or so weeks of pregnancy.

What date in April was that period? Did you have sex in April? If you *only* had sex on May 2nd, it would be impossible for you to have become pregnant in April...
Typically, women ovulate about 14 days after the start of a period, but women's cycles vary so much that that's not an absolute.
It would be hard to imagine a pregnancy that was detectable only 8 days after conception, but it's not unheard of either. What method of testing did you use? Cheap home tests are usually less likely to detect pregnancy so early, a blood test is far more sensitive...

Probably in April. An ultrasound can tell you the age of the fetus.
