I had my right ovary removed 3 years ago because of a cyst, and 2 months ago I had 2/3 of my other ovary removed because of another cyst. I am still having periods so there is some ovarian function still there. My doctor said I will probably still be able to conveive, he may be just saying this because he accidently removed a tumor that didnt exist, he seems like an honest man that made a huge mistake. What are your thoughts, can I still conceive?

I personally know of one woman, a friend of mine, who had a similar ovary + a fraction removed and proceeded to have two more kids.

(For what it's worth, the two kids she had AFTER the ovary + fraction was removed are the nicer of her four kids so there you go!)

Good luck!

there is no such thing as removing a tumor my mistake. As a OR tech, doctor will remove any kind of strange looking object even if it is just a simple over growth of an organ. A doctor will say it is a tumor at the being but it can be a papule after going throught a lab test. Regarding the overies being removed, you are lucky the doctor only remove part of the overies. In the hospital i work in, all the overies that are removed are usually done fully. As for conceiving, if you think you can do it, why not.

If you are still menstruating, your ovary is still producing eggs. I lost one ovary to a tumor and produced 4 kids on the remaining one. You should be fine - good luck!
