I believe Bush is playing the double game. I'm just not sure if he is working directly with bin Laden or he is allowing bin Laden to run around on his own. bin Laden is the "devil" that Bush is using to try to scare people into following him, because he is portraying himself as the only one who can save us. If bin Laden is caught, it will be a temporary high for Bush, but then he has nothing to fall back on when that high dies down and problems are still rampant in America.

Right now Bush is attempting to distract us from the other problems by saying "look, look, there is a crazy terrorist over here." He then says he can stop the terrorist, but only if we support him fully. And then he says he hasn't been able to catch the terrorist because the Democrats are providing moral support to him and his followers, which is just bullsh** and he knows it. bin Laden is the best thing to have ever happened to Bush, and he is milking it for all he is worth.

I can't think of any one event that would cripple the terrorist's morale AND boost President Bush's poll numbers and the support for his policies than to capture Bin Laden.

What possible motive could he have for knowing where Bin Laden is and NOT parading him before the world's media?

No, it's not a "double game." It's the old 'needle in a haystack' problem. Remember, Osama has a lot of sick and demented supporters who are more than willing to give their lives to protect his whereabouts. He has no problem finding willing participants who will help him stay hidden.

My guess is that we do not have enough info on where he is, and the amount of force it would take to comb through the area to find him (through mountains, caves, etc.) would destabilize the already shaky Afghanistan and Pakistan regimes. We also have special ops teams working it as best we can.

The problem is that many people there SUPPORT Osama. We offered $25 million for his head and it brought nothing, or very little. That's not going to help.

Bush sure as hell better do everything he can to get him. If he launches a nuclear 9/11 on us there will be hell to pay. But then again, Iran or North Korea could try it too. All it takes is the money to buy a bomb (from an oil-rich country), a nutjob with nukes who needs the money (Kim Jong Il) and a boat to sail it into a US port. I hope it NEVER happens, obviously.

We have very few real allies who share our vision of western-style democracy and are willing to fight for it. We have a lot of weak Eurpoean socialist type governments who don't want to rock the boat, many semi-despotic Middle Eastern rulers who are barely keeping the lid on and playing both ends against the middle, Russia and China who are plotting against us, and the other countries that openly hate us. And countries in Africa and South America that are dirt poor and/or humanitarian nightmares, sick of being "exploited" by western capitalism. And Morgan Freeman's penguins in Antarctica - so far we haven't pissed them off.

The world is not nearly as civilized as we like to think. There may be more of "them" than "us," and they may be more willing to die to get whatever they think they want.

As they said in Full Metal Jacket, it's a big sh*t sandwich, everybody take a big bite. I hope I'm wrong but I think we're f*cked.

PS I know some people - maybe you included - don't think there is a serious terrorist threat. I do.

Bi Laden has never existed. Wake up people this is just a ploy to keep the war effort going. Ever notice when Bush's ratings drop he suddenly has a message from a terrorist or Bin Laden suddenly releases another tape. I have always said that if you go to Florida you will find Bin Laden lounging on the beach until he is needed for another fake announcement.

All the technology in the world cant find someone cowering deep inside a cave. Besides I don't think Uncle Bin, would care to strut around in the daylight lest he catch a USAF 500 pounder from an F16.

for all you know, bin laden might be a good friend of the presidents of the US and that they're playing a game of command and conquer in real life.

According to the history channel, Usama Bin Ladin is most likely in Pakistan. He needs a dialysis machine. How hard is it to find all the dialysis machines in Pakistan, then track the one Usama is connected to?

If the history channel has this much information, our goverment / military knows more.

That $27 Million Reward sure would help me right now =0p...
